Compress Image to 15KB
A middle path for forms that cap photos or signatures at 15KB.
Advanced (optional): exact pixels or minimum KB
Many forms ask for pixels as well as KB. Leave empty if yours does not. Examples are common sizes only – always use the size your form states.
✅ Done! Your images are ready
When 15KB shows up
A 15KB limit sits between the very small 10KB and the more common 20KB. It tends to appear on older portals and on forms that ask for a photo and a signature as two separate files, each with its own cap. It is enough for a clear face at about 200 pixels tall, or a signature with comfortable margins.
Working with a range
Some forms say “minimum 10KB, maximum 15KB”. Compress mode only guarantees the upper limit, so put 10 in the Minimum KB box under Advanced. If the result would come out smaller than 10KB, the tool adds invisible padding so it lands inside your range.
Mistakes to avoid
- Typing 15 when the form counts in MB or in bytes. Check the unit on the form first.
- Saving a screenshot of your photo. Screenshots add interface edges and re-compress, which hurts quality.
- Uploading the compressed file to a chat app and downloading it again. Chat apps often re-compress and can push it over the limit.
Questions about: Compress Image to 15KB
How do I get a file between 10KB and 15KB?
Type 15 as the size and set Minimum KB to 10 in Advanced options. The result will land in that window when the picture allows it.
Will a 15KB photo pass a face check on a portal?
File size alone does not decide that. The portal may also check pixel size, background and head position, so read its photo notes.
Is 15KB the same as 15,000 bytes?
Close, but not identical. 1KB is 1,000 bytes in some systems and 1,024 in others. This tool stays under the limit counted the smaller way, so the file passes either way.
About the Compress Image to 15KB tool
Use this page when a form asks for a photo or signature of 15KB or less. The tool tries the highest JPG quality that fits under your limit and reduces the pixel dimensions only if it has to, so the file lands as close to 15KB as it can without going over.
How to use the Compress Image to 15KB tool
- Tap “Select Images” and choose your JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC file.
- The size box is already set to 15. Change it only if your form states a different limit.
- If the form gives a pixel size as well, open Advanced and type the width and height before you press the button.
- Press the green button, check the Before and After sizes, then download the file (or the ZIP if you added several).

Which formats can I upload to get a 15KB file?
You can upload JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC. The downloaded file is a JPG, named with the target size so it is easy to find.
