Increase Image Size to 30KB

Pad an image to exactly 30KB without changing how it looks.

KB
Advanced (optional): exact pixels or minimum KB

Many forms ask for pixels as well as KB. Leave empty if yours does not. Examples are common sizes only – always use the size your form states.

A 30KB minimum

A 30KB minimum appears on forms that want a passport-style photo of “reasonable” quality but still tiny: they set a floor to reject thumbnails. If your photo is 12KB because it passed through a messaging app, padding is the quickest fix.

Example. A 12KB image padded to 30KB looks identical on screen. If the portal also wants a clearer face, retake the picture, because 12KB of detail cannot become 30KB of detail.

Which option fits

  • Only the file size is wrong: use this page.
  • The picture is blurry: use a sharper original, then compress to 30KB.
  • Both a floor and a ceiling apply: use the resizer with Minimum KB.

Mistakes

  • Padding a picture that already exceeds 30KB. It cannot be done; compress first.
  • Assuming the portal measures in 1,000-byte KB. This tool pads in 1,024-byte KB, which is larger, so it still satisfies a minimum.

Why chat apps leave you under the minimum

Messaging apps usually shrink photos that are sent as pictures, which is how a decent photo ends up at 12KB. If you send the file to yourself as a document or file instead, the original size is normally kept. Then you may not need padding at all. When the shrunk copy is all you have, pad it here to 30 × 1,024 = 30,720 bytes and upload that.

Questions about: Increase Image Size to 30KB

Does padding reduce quality?

No. The picture data is not re-encoded when the source is already a JPG.

What if my image is a PNG?

It is converted to JPG first, which changes the file slightly, then padded to 30KB.

Can I pad many images at once?

Yes, select them together and download a ZIP.
