Increase Image Size in KB
Make a small image reach a minimum or exact size, whatever the number is.
Advanced (optional): exact pixels or minimum KB
Many forms ask for pixels as well as KB. Leave empty if yours does not. Examples are common sizes only – always use the size your form states.
✅ Done! Your images are ready
Why a form says “file too small”
Some portals set a minimum size as well as a maximum, usually to stop blank or accidental uploads. A file also ends up too small when it has been through chat apps, screenshots or earlier compression. This page is for the general case: you type any KB value and the tool brings the file to that exact size.
What Increase mode does and does not do
- Does: add invisible data inside the JPG so the file reaches exactly the number you typed (counted as 1KB = 1,024 bytes).
- Does not: add pixels, sharpness or detail. A blurry photo stays blurry.
- Cannot: shrink a file. If your file is already larger than the number, use Compress instead.
When padding is not enough
If the form requires a minimum width and height as well, you need a larger original photo. Padding changes the file size only. For a fixed range such as 20–50KB, compress to 50KB and set a minimum of 20 in one step.
Questions about: Increase Image Size in KB
Does a bigger file mean better quality?
No. The extra bytes are empty. The picture is identical to the original JPG.
Which number do I type for 1MB?
1024, since the tool counts 1KB as 1,024 bytes in Increase mode.
What if my file is already larger than the target?
The tool cannot shrink in Increase mode. Switch to Compress, or pick a bigger target.
