Compress Image to 1MB
The box works in KB, so this page is preset to 1024 (that is 1MB).
Advanced (optional): exact pixels or minimum KB
Many forms ask for pixels as well as KB. Leave empty if yours does not. Examples are common sizes only – always use the size your form states.
✅ Done! Your images are ready
About the 1MB image
Many platforms cap uploads at 1MB, from helpdesk forms to forum avatars and media libraries. Because the tool counts in KB, 1MB is entered as 1024.
How to compress an image to 1MB
- Select your image. JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC all work, and you can pick several at once.
- Check the size. The box is already set to 1024. Change the number if your form says something different.
- Press the green button and download a JPG under 1 MB, or one ZIP for many files.
Compress mode keeps the best quality that still fits under your limit.

1MB image FAQ
Why 1024 and not 1000?
Computers count 1MB as 1024KB. The tool keeps the file under 1,024,000 bytes so it works either way.
Will my 3MB photo lose a lot of quality?
Usually very little. Going from 3MB to 1MB mostly removes detail you cannot see.
What if I need 2MB instead?
Use the 2MB page or type 2048 in the box.
Is my photo uploaded when I compress it to 1 MB?
No. The 1 MB resizing runs inside your browser, so your picture never leaves your device. No signup, no watermark.
