Passport Photo to 100KB

Compress a passport or ID photo to 100KB and keep it clear.

Advanced (optional): exact pixels or minimum KB

Many forms ask for pixels as well as KB. Leave empty if yours does not. Examples are common sizes only – always use the size your form states.

✅ Done! Your images are ready

Not an official tool. CompressPicOnline is not affiliated with any government, passport office, embassy, exam board or employer. Photo rules (KB size, pixels, background, head position) are set by the organisation you are applying to and can change, so read its official photo instructions before uploading. The 413 × 531 px preset is only 3.5 × 4.5 cm converted at 300 DPI. Other countries use other sizes: for example 35 × 45 mm is common in the UK and Schengen area, while the US uses 2 × 2 inches. Always verify the size on your form.

Why 100KB gives a better photo than 50KB

At 100KB a face keeps natural skin texture and clean hair edges, which matters when someone at an office zooms in. If a form allows 100KB, use it rather than rounding down to 50KB.

Example. From one original, the 50KB version shows smooth, slightly waxy skin, while the 100KB version keeps pores and eyebrow detail. Both fit their limits; only one looks like you.

Set the shape before the size

  • Type 100 as the size.
  • Open Advanced options and enter the pixels your form lists. Without pixel values, the tool keeps your original proportions.
  • Choose how to handle a different shape: crop (default), white borders or stretch.

Check the instructions of the receiving office

Sizes in millimetres, background colour and head height differ between offices. What counts here is what the official instructions say, not what this page presets.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Editing the face with beauty filters. Many offices reject filtered photos, and filters also add noise that costs bytes.
  • Cropping so tightly that hair or shoulders are cut off.
  • Letting a messaging app re-compress the file after you save it here.

Questions about: Passport Photo to 100KB

How many pixels should a 100KB passport photo be?

Whatever your form states. If none is given, the tool keeps the original proportions and reduces pixel size only when needed.

Can I put two photos on one sheet for printing?

Is a smartphone photo acceptable?

Many forms accept one if it is sharp, evenly lit and taken against a plain background. Read the instructions of the receiving office.

About the Passport Photo to 100KB tool

This page prepares a passport-style photo of 100KB or less. The roomier limit keeps more facial detail than a 50KB file. The tool saves a JPG at the best quality that fits, and you can set exact pixels in Advanced if your form asks for them.

How to use the Passport Photo to 100KB tool

  1. Tap “Select Images” and choose your JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC file.
  2. The size box is already set to 100. Change it only if your form states a different limit.
  3. Use a plain background and even light before you take the photo. Shadows on the face use up the file size.
  4. Press the green button, check the Before and After sizes, then download the file (or the ZIP if you added several).
