WebP is efficient, and browsers and many Android apps save images in it automatically, for example when you long-press “Save image”. Many application forms only accept JPG or PNG, so the upload fails even when the file is small. This page converts to JPG and fits it under 100KB in one step.

Example. A 70KB WebP of a photo is not accepted by a form that only allows JPG. Converted to a JPG it may be 100KB or more, because JPG is less efficient. If it must stay under 100KB the tool lowers quality to fit.
